About The Farm
arcadia Brook Farm is located on Bird Haven Lane in North Ferrisburgh. This will be our sixth growing season and our fourth season of shareholder supported agriculture. We are David Booth and Norma Hernández Gatica. Our farm is where tomatoes, corn and pac choy meet tomatillos & jalapenos. In other words all of your favorites plus we'll stretch your culinary boundaries on occasion too. We're even going to grow a trial crop of prickly pear cactus this season!
healthy and delicious food
Our highest goal is to provide the most delicious and nutritious food possible, grown and handled with care. Starting with rich loam soils, we further enrich them with age old organic methods including compost, leaves, rock powders, and cover crops as called for by soil tests and crop needs. Rich soils are essential for both nutrition and flavor. This, often more than freshness, is what makes many of our crops taste sweeter and more complex.
one stop shopping
We are making more locally produced foods available at our weekly pick ups. We'll be offering our shareholders (for optional purchase) our own eggs, pork and chicken this season plus bread from Eric Andrus of Ferrisburgh and beef from local farmers. We are very excited to be working with Champlain Orchards who will provide freshly pressed unpastuerized Cider in season. The flavor difference will astound you if you have never experienced it. This cider is not available to any (nonfarm) store at any price. |
